(in honor of Global Youth Service Day)
********************
City-Wide Collection Drive!
This year, Service Day will be a drop-off event. We will be collecting non-perishable food, new or used children's books, gently used shoes (any size, any type), and gently used children's winter hats & gloves.
****************************************************************************************
In the past, Residents, businesses, organizations, and others were all invited to join in the fun of helping others. Visitors traveled around the city campus while completing simple, hands-on projects. The fire station, police station, library, arts council, and senior housing all hosted projects as well.
Lunch was served by Firefighters, face painting, and more!
ALL FREE!
A snapshot of the impact from 2 years ago:

PAST YEARS' EVENTS:
Service Day Saturday is a fun and free event for everyone! Residents participate in activities for all ages, including lunch, ice cream, face painting, police cars, fire trucks, art, animals, and more. Everything is FREE!
Residents, businesses, or organizations can host a collection drive the week leading up to Service Day, or organize their own projects. Stop by City Hall to celebrate with us, or to drop off items that we are collecting.
Service Fair at City Hall & Around the City Campus
Multiple service projects benefitting local non-profits will be available at City Hall. Students from Harriet Bishop Elementary School will lead these fun and educational projects. Examples include repacking bulk bags of rice for a local food shelf, making fleece dog toys and blankets to benefit an animal shelter, decorating paper lunch bags for Meals on Wheels, assembling bead kits for patients in children's hospitals, and so many more! Travel from station to station and help make a difference. Free food, visits with fire trucks & police cars, face painting, chair massages, and much more.
